What TxtPlease is.

TxtPlease is an independent software service that automatically transcribes the WhatsApp voice messages people send you and replies with the text in the same chat. It works on a regular personal WhatsApp number through multi-device linking, the same mechanism WhatsApp Web uses, so there is no WhatsApp Business API and nothing for the sender to install. It supports more than 90 languages and deletes the audio right after transcription.

It exists for a small, specific annoyance: voice notes arrive at the worst moments, in meetings, on trains, in loud cafes, and a four-minute monologue is something you often just need to read. People send roughly 7 billion voice messages a day on WhatsApp. TxtPlease turns the ones you receive into something you can read in seconds.

Who builds it

TxtPlease is built by a small independent team, founded in 2026. It is a self-funded project, not a venture-backed company, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. We make money from subscriptions, not from your data: audio is never stored and nothing is used to train AI models.

What we believe about privacy

Transcription should happen for you, not for a data broker. The audio of a voice note is processed, turned into text, and deleted within seconds. Transcripts live in your WhatsApp chat, not on our servers. For people who want full control, the underlying service is built to be self-hostable.
